🔧 Ridgeline - Front Windshield Wiper Blade Replacement
Replacing both front wiper blades restores clear, streak-free wiping and helps prevent windshield scratches. Your Ridgeline uses a 26-inch driver-side blade and a 24-inch passenger-side blade.
Difficulty Level: Beginner | Estimated Time: 10-15 minutes
⚠️ Safety & Precautions
- Place a folded towel on the windshield because the bare metal arm can crack the glass if it snaps down.
- Raise the driver-side arm first and lower it last so the arms do not contact each other.
- Do not switch on the wipers while either arm is raised.
- Battery disconnection is not required.
🔧 Required Tools
You'll need the following tools for this repair:
- Medium microfiber towel
- Nitrile work gloves
- Safety glasses

- 24-inch passenger-side front wiper blade - Qty: 1
Replace both front blades as a pair. Select blades supplied with an adapter compatible with the Ridgeline’s hook-style wiper arms.
📋 Before You Begin
- Park your Ridgeline on level ground, shift into Park, apply the parking brake, and switch the ignition off.
- Make sure the windshield and wiper arms are cool and free of ice or packed debris.
- Place a medium microfiber towel against the windshield beneath the driver-side blade.
- No infotainment setting, service mode, scan tool, or battery disconnect is needed.
🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Raise the Driver-Side Wiper Arm
- Put on nitrile work gloves and safety glasses.
- Use your hand to lift the driver-side wiper arm away from the windshield until it stays raised.
- Hold the arm firmly. Do not allow the spring-loaded arm to snap toward the glass.
Step 2: Remove the Driver-Side Blade
- Rotate the blade until it sits nearly perpendicular to the arm.
- Locate the small release tab where the blade connects to the curved end of the arm.
- Press the release tab with your thumb while sliding the blade toward the base of the arm.
- Guide the curved hook through the blade opening, then remove the blade.
- Rest the bare arm gently on the medium microfiber towel while preparing the replacement.
- Compare old and new adapters before installation.
Step 3: Install the New Driver-Side Blade
- Use your hands to align the new 26-inch blade adapter with the curved hook on the arm.
- Feed the hook through the adapter opening and slide the blade toward the end of the arm.
- Continue sliding until the locking tab clicks into place.
- Pull the blade gently in the opposite direction to confirm it is locked.
- No fasteners are used, so there is no torque specification.
Step 4: Lower the Driver-Side Arm
- Use one hand to support the arm and the other to keep the blade straight.
- Remove the medium microfiber towel, then lower the blade gently onto the windshield.
- Do not drop the arm onto the glass.
Step 5: Replace the Passenger-Side Blade
- Place the medium microfiber towel beneath the passenger-side blade.
- Use your hand to raise the passenger-side arm.
- Rotate the blade, press its release tab, and slide the old blade toward the base of the arm.
- Guide the hook out of the adapter and remove the old blade.
- Use your hands to install the new 24-inch blade through the hook-style adapter.
- Slide it into place until it clicks, then pull gently to verify the lock.
- Remove the medium microfiber towel and lower the arm carefully onto the windshield.
Step 6: Check Blade Position
- Use your hands to verify that both rubber wiping edges sit flat against the windshield.
- Confirm the 26-inch blade is on the driver side and the 24-inch blade is on the passenger side.
- Make sure both adapters are fully closed and neither blade can slide off its arm.
✅ After Repair
- Wet the windshield with washer fluid before operating the new blades; never test new blades on dry glass.
- Switch on the ignition and operate the windshield washers and wipers at low speed.
- Confirm both blades move smoothly without striking each other, the windshield trim, or the cowl.
- Stop immediately if a blade loosens, chatters heavily, or leaves an unwiped area. Recheck its adapter and orientation.
